Three evenings of video art projections and cocktails in the Hall of MACRO. A sensational blend that combines Peter Gabriel and John Cage, Nam June Paik and Ennio Morricone: images, music and sounds in an entertaining kaleidoscope of languages.
September 14, 2010: the first day of MACRO Video Drink is dedicated to Generazioni Romane in Videoarte with works from the 70s to the Present by Carlo Quartucci, Mario Sasso, Gianni Toti, Theo Eshetu, Alba D’Urbano, Adriana Amodei, Ida Gerosa, Lino Strangis and Hermes Intermedia. The videos are accompanied by great masters’ music (Ennio Morricone, Nicola Sani, Joji Hirota, Giancarlo Schiaffini).
September 21, 2010: the second day is dedicated to Nam June Paik, a Korean-born American artist who is considered to be the first video artist, with a selection of works such as A Tribute to John Cage, the portrait of one of the leading figure of the avant-garde of the 60s and 70s, and This is the Picture, ouverture of the TV programme Morning Mr. Orwell, starring Peter Gabriel and Laurie Anderson.
September 28, 2010: the third and last day of MACRO Video Drink presents a selection of Robert Cahen’s works that capture “fugitive visions” of countries and cities all over the world.
